The Meet honouring long-serving Gippsland Official Andy Barnes was held in Sale on Saturday, 25th February beginning at 4pm. Preceding the meet, Sale Swimming Club held a ‘back to’ afternoon tea for past members at which Andy was the guest of honour.
The weather could have been worse, we decided, but it was still a bit chilly and overcast and required determination from the swimming participants.
The meet will be run began with pairs events – something our district has not run in many years. It is a fun addition to a meet with different ages combining to compete.
Thank you to the Sale club for the opportunity to thank Andy Barnes for the many years of dedicated service to the swimmers and clubs of Gippsland, and especially to the Sale Swimming Club.
