Individual Points 14 & Under

Over 300 swimmers from across Gippsland travelled to Sale and the Lex Glover Aqua Energy Regional Aquatic Centre over the three day long weekend in March, to contest the annual GDF SUEZ Australian Energy  Gippsland Swimming Championships for 2015. The Championships, and final event held in Gippsland for the current season, was an outstanding success with a number of records falling and stunning times made. The new starting blocks, funded through the Wellington Shire, Gippsland Swimming Inc and Sale Swimming Club Inc. were put to good use and assisted to make the event better than ever.

Mrs. Jacqueline Madden, President of Gippsland Swimming, thanked everyone involved in making the event a huge success and for support in running events throughout the season, “Gippsland is fortunate to have wonderful support from members and a number of qualified officials to run an exceptional meet like this and swimmers from across Gippsland took advantage of the fantastic facilities here in Sale to gain some much sought after pb’s and in some cases national qualifying times”.

Selected swimmers now turn their attention to All Junior events to be held in Melbourne 22/23rd March and 26 swimmers from across 5 of the 7 Gippsland member clubs and their coaches will make the trip in early April to Sydney and Sydney Olympic Park for the National Age/Open Swimming Championships. Gippsland Technical Officials: Gary Nowrungsah and Jacqueline Madden have gained selection to officiate at these meets and Gippsland is very fortunate to be represented so well.

Gippsland Swimming’s AGM will be held in late May.
