The Duel in the Pool is a meet with a difference!  Swimmers will enter 50m sprint events online here.  They will then be put into colour teams – Red, Green, Yellow and Blue where there will be a mixture of ages and clubs represented.

Swimmers gather at 10am for team strategy meetings with their coach(es). Meet begins at 11am. Dylan Muir will act as Master of Ceremonies on the day.

As a team the swimmers will accrue points:  1st– 22, 2nd-18, 3rd – 16, 4th-14 and so on for individual events and 100, 60, 40, 20 for **special events**.  The **special events** are entered by Team Coaches in consultation with the Team Captains.  Swimmers may swim in only 1 **special event** for their team.

**Special Events*

1 12 & Under and 13 & Over 50M butterfly kick using a kickboard Boys and Girls
2 12 & Under and 13 & Over 100m Mixed Up IM – swimmers swim IM in order printed on a
   card with each swimmer swimming a different order Boys and Girls
3 12 & Under and 13 & Over 50m Freestyle Skins.  Swum together to give rest time,
   2 swimmers from each team compete over 50m 4 times with two swimmers dropping out
   after the first legs and one swimmer each leg after.
4 10×50 mixed freestyle relay –  Each team is made up of 10 swimmers – 2 x 9/U, 2x 11/U,
    2 x 13/U, 2 x 15/U and 2 x 16 & O – who will compete as a relay team

RULES  (these are important)
*Swimmers MUST dress up in team colours- t shirts, tutus, hats, etc.  and supporters should too!!
*Swimmers may wear only training style bathers to compete – no racing suits.
*There must be much shouting and encouragement!
* Meet entries close ten days prior (Thursday 5th September) to the meet to give the Organisers time to set teams and choose Coaches and Team Captains (and let swimmers know their teams!!)
